How is Copper Produced?
Industrially, metallic pure copper is produced by pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical methods. Approximately 80% of the copper produced is obtained by pyrometallurgical method and 20% by hydrometallurgical method. Copper slags are solid by-products formed in the pyrometallurgical process of copper production from sulphide copper ores.
